I am learning so much by creating this design! Everything from knitwear design to how to make a rough schematic in Illustrator.

Guess what? I forgot ease in the shoulder!

Yep, I forgot ease. And I just realized it this morning. So I’ll be over here, softly weeping into my knitting. Here’s where my project currently stands:

I’ll be ripping some rows, and doing the math again for decreases. For now, you can take a look a the pattern for 16″ shoulder width below. Over the next week, I’ll add a second section for a more realistic 18″ shoulder width.

This pattern may be killing me but it’s also making me stronger!

Pattern for back of cardigan continued for a 16″ shoulder width:

Start Armholes

Row 74: Bind off 4 stitches, K1, P1 to end of row.

Row 75: Bind off 4 stitches, K1, P1 to end of row. Do not purl last stitch. Use the sloped bind off for all the armhole bind off rows!

#PennyDreadfulKAL: Goals

I will be writing the pattern for the front panels of the cardigan soon. At the very latest, I will post them next month, if not sooner! I had an epiphany about the sleeves – they are definitely set in sleeves, and I found some similar sleeeves in Shirley Paden’s book – a Gathered Top Sleeve. I’l be figuring those out later!

See you on Tuesday, April 10th for the update!
