Another year of blogging, and another year of meeting and promoting some of the most wonderful people who are a part of our fabulous fiber community.

Here’s what you enjoyed the most published in 2018:

1. The Easiest Baby Blanket to Knit – Advice for Beginners
This article is by far the most popular of the year. I’m so happy to help beginner knitters just learning for a special new baby in their life!

2. Knitting for Natural Hair – The Ultimate Guide to Yarn Choice
This article was a fantastic collaboration between Yolanda McNair and I. She really did her research, and I’m glad people are finding it and enjoying her awesome contribution to Knit’s All Folks!

3. Announcing the Penny Dreadful Knit-A-Long
I was incredibly humbled as I strove to learn more about knitting design. I will never again complain about the cost of a pattern. It is SO MUCH WORK to write a design. I’ve learned a lot over the last year, and I’ve also failed too. The #pennydreadfulkal did not go as planned, and I’ve yet to release the pattern. I’m sorry that I haven’t met my deadline on that pattern, but never fear, I will get it finished! Thank you to all of you who have been so patient, kind, and supportive in this (perhaps too ambitious for a first project) endeavor.

 4. Knitting to Prevail Over Adversity
An unconventional interview that makes for a beautiful and rewarding read. Thanks Chastity!

5. My Two Ladies Knitting Needles Review
A lovely opportunity to try out a new knitting needle innovation!

Here’s what you enjoyed the most from the archive:

1. Beginner Infinity Scarf: Easy & Fast First Knitting Project!
This article was my most popular in 2017 and continues to hold strong this year.

2. Knitting and Carpal Tunnel: 10 Ways to Feel Better
I’m so happy this article is popular and I hope it continues to help people. I’m proud to say after years of work, my hands haven’t gone numb in months, and I’m more comfortable knitting than ever!

3. Sarah Jessica Parker Wins at Wearing a Chunky Knit Hat
This article is very popular on
Pinterest. Who doesn’t love Sarah Jessica Parker?

4. Desert Scavenger Hat – Free Pattern!
One of my first patterns, and I’m still proud of it!

5. Penny Dreadful: Gothic Sweater Chic
Penny Dreadful is back for another season, and this article keeps being popular!

My highlights of the year:

My Instagram and Pinterest following has grown, and I’m so happy to get to interact with the fiber community there. I will continue to focus my efforts on finding my fiber loving cohorts on these social media platforms over the next year.

I was on the Fiber Muse Podcast, which fulfilled my dream of being interviewed on a podcast about knitting! Talking about diversity in knitting media and getting to do it with someone as talented as Frenchie was truly an honor. I was brutally honest on her podcast, and I’m proud of myself for not holding back.

I was featured in Yarn People, a magazine that I’m very excited to see how it blossoms over the course of the next year. Their commitment to diversity is admirable and I’m a huge fan!

Thank you to everyone who has supported the website and me over the last year. I could not have done it without your encouragement and support! Have a happy new year, full of diverse people, yarn and patterns!
